Islamic Relief launches East Africa Crisis Appeal
06 July 2011
The Drought Has Caused Devistation
Islamic Relief is responding to the devastating crisis which is
threatening people across East Africa. The full scale of the situation
is now starting to emerge, due to several years without sufficient
rainfall, rising food prices, devastated farmlands and failed harvests.
The
United Nations have estimated that 10 million people are now in need of
immediate humanitarian assistance. This has quickly become the worst
drought in over 60 years.
It is now vital that the international
community respond as quickly as possible. Islamic Relief have been on
the ground delivering vital aid and assistance for many years.
Countless lives have been saved through our projects in the affected
countries of Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. We are now appealing for more
funds to reach the rapidly growing number of people in need.
With your help we can make a world of difference, please donate generously to the DEC East Africa Crisis Appeal.
