Displaced family in Wadi Khaled

Children are living in poor conditions
Ahmad (not his real name), a breadwinner of 5 children and a wife suffering from asthma, is a displaced Syrian who fled along with his family from the conflict in his village, Talkalakh. The family has been living in a basement lacking minimum living standards, but this is all that they can afford.
The basement lacks any basic residential facilities and is very humid, causing health problems especially for the mother who already suffers from severe asthma. Moreover, the sanitary pipelines run across the room, thus excreting a bad smell that affects the health and hygiene of the family.
The mother’s health has worsened since they fled to Lebanon and she requires continuous treatment and medication. Furthermore, two children started suffering from irritation in their eyes as a result of humidity which also requires an urgent follow up.
When Islamic Relief met “Ahmad” and his family, they were in need of all basic requirements. The team provided the family with clothing, kitchen set, gas, food kits, mattresses, blankets and a hygiene kit. This support will take place on a monthly basis to ensure that the family is receiving proper support as long as they are residing in Lebanon and since they don’t have any source of income. Ahmad showed gratitude to Islamic Relief, although he still faces many shortages. The last words of Ahmad were thanking God for his blessings and praying to return to his home as soon as possible.
