Islamic Relief is responding to the floods that have hit Pakistan. The floods are affecting over 5 million people in 22 districts. Many are forced to live in temporary accommodation in schools, public buildings and with relatives. The floods have destroyed people’s crops which puts further strains on communities.
Islamic Relief has already started distributing, food, hygiene kits and tents in the province of Sindh which is worst hit by the floods. In total Islamic Relief is planning to reach at least 200, 000 people with emergency aid distribution.
Islamic Relief worked on the floods last year and has had a constant presence in Pakistan. This enables Islamic Relief to get aid to those that need it most.
