He spoke about the dedication of relief workers and the huge responsibility they bear.

On Friday 23rd of May Islamic Relief was graced by a visit from His Eminence Shaykh Ali Al-Hashimi, Legal and Religious advisor to HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

The visit to Islamic Relief was part of his efforts to explore the possibility of co-operation between humanitarian organisations in the UAE and their counterparts in the UK.

The Shaykh was taken on a guided tour of Islamic Relief’s Birmingham HQ, and met staff from several departments before being invited to give a short talk. He spoke about the dedication of relief workers, and the huge responsibility they bear.

Shaykh Ali Al-Hashimi commended Islamic Relief’s staff for their efforts to alleviate the suffering of poverty-stricken people. He also expressed his hopes for stronger links in the future between the United Arab Emirates and Islamic Relief, and increased cooperation between the UK and the U.A.E in the field of humanitarian aid.

The Shaykh was accompanied by the director of his office, Mr Mohammed Mobarak Al-Mirrie, and a reporter from EMP Media for Dubai TV.
