Iraq: six years on

Six years on from the start of the Iraq conflict women are struggling more than ever with increasing poverty and a lack of even basic services such as healthcare, clean water and shelter. Women are now also more vulnerable than ever to violence. However, increasingly this violence is not to be found on the streets of Baghdad but in women’s own homes as more and more women suffer abuse at the hands of their own relatives.
